The History of Transfer Factor

The History of Transfer FactorsFrom this discovery, research began its journey through the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Scientists believed they had found that ultimate immune system and health enhancer. Up until this time, the only known source of transfer factors was derived from blood. Research stopped in its tracks.In 1986, two hog scientists discovered that mothers passed down their transfer factors to their babies through the placenta and colostrum in order to give the baby’s immune system a chance to survive a hostile environment of pathogens. These scientists found the cows did the same thing. Often calves will not survive if for some reason they do not receive the colostrum from the mother. Research began to move forward again. Antibiotics still reigned as king in the medical world. Many scientists that worked with transfer factors derived from blood didn’t think transfer factors from colostrum would work, so they didn’t enter the research.Three events in history changed all of this. First, technology advanced. Secondly, germs began to become resistant to antibiotics. Third, 4Life Research created a large consumer base from which they derived a great deal of information about how transfer factors affected the health and immune systems of more than a million customers. Now research is exploding. Felipe “Sertanejo” Arantes trains under Jorge “Macaco” Patino and at Diego Limas, Chute Boxe Academy in Brazil. He will be fighting for the U.C.C. title this month in New Jersey. http://www.uccfights.com/97-2/ucc-4-flashpoint-febuary-12-2011He was kind enough to do a quick question and answer with us so that MMA fans will get a bit more familiarity with the young man Macaco calls, “a diamond”.

EH: Felipe, where are you originally from and where do you reside?

FSA: I am from Sao Paulo, Brazil and reside there as well.

EH:How was it like growing up there?

FSA: I had a good life. I was born in a good neighborhood and my parents gave me everything that a person would need to be happy.

EH: Did you always want to be a fighter?

FSA: Like most kids I started learning soccer, but life showed me another direction and I took it.

EH:How old were you when you started martial arts?

FSA: I was nine when I started soccer and then martial arts. Then Muay Thai at 14 and two years later I had my first official fight.

EH:What art did you first start learning?

FSA: I started in Capoeira, then Judo, then Tae Kwon Do, and Jiu-Jitsu, then Muay Thai. I learn from all but Muay Thai is my passion!

EH: Okay, on that note we are going to back track. You said your first fight was at 16?

FSA: Yes, it was in Curitiba, Brazil. It was like a Grand Prix. I had to fight three fights to become champion. I was soooo nervous, but not too nervous to become champion! It was a great feeling!

EH: Did or does your family support your profession?

FSA: My family supports me 100%! They are my emotional support and more. We all lean on God; it’s all in his hands.

EH: If you were not a fighter what do you see yourself doing?

FSA:Most likely I would be a veterinarian. I love animals!

EH:What do you want to see for Brazil?

FSA:I want a better future for my Brazilian brothers and sisters. More equality, means more education, which means more opportunity and less crime.
